Mercy Nursing – Web Design
Objectives
Mercy Health System decided that the Mercy Nursing website would be the first among their group to feature a new color palette, which would eventually be consistent throughout all the Mercy sites. They asked that our web design showcase these colors. They also requested two special features: an events calendar and a testimonials feed.
Outcomes
The first thing a visitor notices about this web design is the use of color. The graphic designer incorporated cool, gradient shades of orange set off by sea blues and a vibrant green. There is a circular theme throughout the site, most noticeable in the main navigation, which is graphic in order to add interest to pages that are more text-focused.
Our developers created two custom plug-ins in WordPress for the calendar and testimonials functions in this site. This web design client can easily log in to WordPress and update the calendar. The testimonials feed appears in the right sidebar of every page under “Heard About Us” next to an eye-catching image of a nurse. This feed refreshes automatically as news is added to Mercy Health System’s main site, making this a low-maintenance feature for the client.
